what's a fanlisting?

A fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are), they are just a place where you can sign up with other fans.

rurouni kenshin

Rurouni Kenshin started as a manga series by Watsuki Nobuhiro (Busou Renki), serialized in the Shonen Jump magazine (Naruto, Bleach), and was later adapted to an anime series. It's set in the end of the Tokugawa Era in Japan (1603-1867) and especially the beginning of the Meiji Restoration (1867-1930/1940). Many of the events in the series happened in real life. Himura Kenshin, also known as Hitokiri Batousai (Battousai the Assassin), and for being a extremely skilled soldier, but also the most merciless one, under the government's control. However, when the war ended, he left, starting a new life as a wanderer.

11 years later, a young kendoka called Kamiya Kaoru is dealing with an ex-pupil from his dojo, who claims to have studied at the Kamiya Dojo, and to be the famous "Hitokiri Battousai". Kaoru, who has no idea of Battousai's real story, tries to go after him, but she accidentally meets a suspicious-looking wanderer instead (I mean 'accidentally' because he is gets hit). After helping Kaoru to solve this problem, he reveals that he is the true Hitokiri Battousai, Himura Kenshin. Also, as the Kamiya Dojo's is under a very complicated situation (since pupils started leaving because of the false Battousai's rumor), he offers her his help. That's how his new life starts, yet, his past won't let him live in peace...

1/2 (in Japanese Hanbun) is the second opening theme for the Rurouni Kenshin anime. It's heard during the Kyoto and the Amakusa Arcs (and the many filling episodes in the middle and after them), in other words, from episode 39 to episode 82. Also, it has three different sequences, depending on the arc.
